However the Energy Minister slammed the policy at a media conference on Wednesday afternoon, raising doubts over whether the targets would be achieved in the set timeline. “Now, that would be, in and of itself, the fastest nuclear rollout in the world in a country that doesn't have a nuclear industry.He said the owners of six out of the seven proposed locations to place nuclear reactors are not interested in hosting them, arguing the policy “fails at the first hurdle”.
He further slammed the credibility of the plan by citing the country-wide ban on nuclear and individual state bans in NSW, Victoria and Queensland.
