Seatrium and GE Vernova secure third contract for TenneT's 2-GW HVDC systemSeatrium Limited and GE Vernova Inc. have succesfully secured a third contract from TenneT TSO B.V. for the construction of a 2-gigawatt high voltage direct current electric offshore transmission system in the Netherlands.

The contract marks the third collaboration between Seatrium, GE Vernova, and TenneT, following a five-year Framework Cooperation Agreement established in March 2023. Under the agreement, the consortium will cover three projects, each valued at approximately US$2.16b , including Nederwiek 2 along with IJmuiden Ver Beta and IJmuiden Ver Gamma, which were secured in March 2023.

The HVDC system, serving the Nederwiek 2 offshore wind farm, positioned approximately 95 kilometers off the coast of the Netherlands, aims to support TenneT's goal of connecting 40 GW of offshore wind energy in the German and Dutch North Sea regions.
