Police have today disabled WiFi on the London Underground in a bid to thwart climate change protesters as activists declared they would disrupt Tube services on the third day of demonstrations.

British Transport Police said it requested Transport for London to restrict internet connection "in the interests of safety" and to "deter serious disruption" on the transport network.

I believe the numbers where similar to the remain march, close to 20million marched and 47million signed a petition

Aren't TFL a private company running public transport (like many train and bus services around the country). I'd be surprised if the police have the authority to tell them to turn off their wifi without a court order!

Don’t any of them have jobs to go to?

Now this is taking it too far! I saw them in Piccadilly Circus yesterday, and I thought how antisocial they were with all their noise, but this is one step OTT!

Agree the police 🚨 need to do this. What also needs to be taken into consideration is public safety and the possibility of terrorist attack.

That will teach them, switch off the internet and annoy customers even more.

Pickpockets and other criminals will be delighted.

So who runs London theses days?
