Finns voting in a parliamentary election in which reforming the nation's generous welfare model and tackling climate change have emerged as key issues.

HELSINKI — Finns are voting in a parliamentary election in which reforming the nation’s generous welfare model and tackling climate change have emerged as key issues. Sunday’s vote in the European Union member of 5.5 million people is taking place in a Nordic country that has one-third of its territory above the Arctic Circle.

The center-left Social Democratic Party tops a recent poll with 19% support. The populist Finns Party, however, is polling in second place with 16% support and has been gathering momentum among voters who find the climate change sacrifices proposed by other political parties too daunting. Some 36% of eligible voters have already cast their ballot in advance, choosing between 2,500 candidates from 19 political parties and movements for the Eduskunta legislature’s 200 seats.

Beware on your voting! America got played into electing a president who wants to turn us into a Trumpian society. Just don't let the Russians guide your voting.

Global warming hoax is just a way for politicians to pay for dead beats who suck off the system that they caused .. The good people of France at least have woken up and said fuck you

Voters in Finland are casting ballots in a parliamentary election after fierce debates over how best to tackle climate change dominated the campaign, even overshadowing topics like reforming the nation’s generous welfare model.

Climate change should be the last thing they are worried about. It's a big Hoax! The world is not going to end if we do nothing in 12 years like some morons claim.

Only the press cares about climate change with these elections, we have more pressing matters.

I hope the Finns don't cave on the climate and social welfare. They are world leaders in these regards!!!

Flying cars could save us from climate changeAccording to the new study, flying electric cars had 52% lower greenhouse gas than traditional cars and would generate 6% lower greenhouse gas emissions than electric cars, for trips of 100 kilometers, about 62 miles. That's fully loaded with a pilot and three passengers. Too late. We'll all be dead in 12 years, and we won't have flying cars by then. Cars can’t fly, nice try.
