Autumn is upon us, which means it's time to plant your sweet peas, broad beans, lettuce and onions so they can establish well before the frosts. Or is it?

If even experienced farmers and community growers are having trouble with unpredictable weather patterns, what does that mean for the humble backyard gardener?

"If you're seeing a trend in that information, respond to that trend by adjusting your planting next year. "Also, make sure gardens are shaded, that they're caring for pollinators, and avoid pesticides that kill pollinators."

The Federation drought 1896 -1903 with temps between 40 - 53 °C had extreme heat and drought with people drop-ping dead in the streets from Perth, Adelaide to Sydney but BOM doesn't include this data in records as they don't go further back than the date they were founded in 1910

Human civilisation is built on predictable climate patterns. People don't seem to understand that it's us that's going to suffer most with climate change. Nature will evolve and take care of itself regardless of whether it's hospitable to humans or not.

The indoctrinated masses.

Almost dry as a chip

I prefer chips to vegetables anyway. So this is a good thing.

Im in Euroa today enroute to ACT and the impact the drought😢is having on this beautiful victorian historical town is alarming 😢😯😦 The River is empty as are the shops😢😢

Climate change is not having a measurable effect on vegetable growing. Every year is 'naturally' different and it changes in chaotic cycles that cannot be predicted so the need is as it has always been, to be adaptive and resilient. i.e. Normal variability is far greater than CC.

How come climate change statistics are always short term statistics. Anyone that knows the first thing about statistics knows you need a large sample to make an accurate prediction.
