Richard Tandy, the keyboardist from the iconic rock band, Electric Light Orchestra has sadly died aged 76. The band's lead singer and frontman, Jeff Lynne, 76, has been one of the first to publicly pay his respects to Tandy, taking to social media to express his huge loss.
Tandy's ELO journey started way back in 1972, when he joined the band as the bass player. However, he eventually swapped instruments to become their permanent keyboard player, and is responsible for some of ELO's most recognisable and signature synth sounds. Tandy remained a firm fixture in the group's line up until 1986, when they temporarily went their separate ways. However, Tandy reunited with some of his former bandmates, including Lynne, during their reformation in the early noughties. Plus, he performed at ELO's major concert in London's Hyde Park in 2014, which famously sold out in just 15 minutes.
