A Bronx man died last week after being struck by an electric bicycle at an intersection in East Harlem, police announced Saturday.

NYPD officials said 59-year-old Jose Peralta died on Thursday, April 4, after an e-bike collision days earlier sent him to a local hospital with head trauma. Peralta was walking in the crosswalk at First Avenue and 106th Street in upper Manhattan shortly before midnight on March 29 when a person on an e-bike rammed into him, according to officials.The cyclist likely had a green light and stayed at the scene after the crash, per officials. Police say they have made no arrests and are investigating.to curb the spike in fatalities from the ubiquitous machines.
