Electric Ireland has announced a 15% reduction in electricity prices for residential customers in Northern Ireland, resulting in an average annual saving of £206.64. This follows a series of price reductions by gas and electricity suppliers in the region.

An electricity supplier has announced a major price reduction for residential customers in Northern Ireland.

Commenting on the latest price reduction, Bill Coyle, Northern Ireland Residential Manager Electric Ireland said:“We always seek to offer the best prices to our customers and we are pleased to announce today that we will be reducing unit rates by 15% for our residential customers." Raymond Gormley, Head of Energy Policy at the Consumer Council, said: “This price decrease is welcome news given the cost-of-living pressures many households in Northern Ireland continue to experience as energy prices remain significantly higher than the pre-pandemic norm.

The Consumer Council also offer a range of support, with their website featuring advice and information on how to save money by being more energy efficient at home, and information on organisations who can help if you are struggling to keep on top of energy bills; visit www.consumercouncil.org.uk.
