The new rules could take effect as early as later this month and could result in more of the vehicles on the city’s streetswith rule changes such as lowering the requirements vendors need to meet in order to increase the number of devices allowed on the street and requiring the businesses to regularly report to the city on rider violations.to the shared dockless vehicle program.

Vendors would be required to give the city a monthly report on discipline to riders, including how many warnings, fines and suspensions have been issued. The vendors would also have to report monthly on how many first-time and repeat riders they get. Vendors also would have a new criteria on how the number of deployed vehicles could be decreased. Instead of vehicles averaging two rides a day citywide, they would have to maintain a minimum average of 1.2 trips per day in the central Dallas deployment zone. If they can’t hit this average, vendors may be required to relocate or remove some of their devices.
