If Labor wins May's federal election, Australia's 250 biggest polluting businesses would have to cut or offset emissions but could make money by selling carbon credits if they overachieve.
Australia has committed to reducing emissions to 26-28 per cent on 2005 levels by 2030, a milestone the federal government insists it's on target for.Labor's climate policy is an extension of the coalition's"safeguard mechanism" that limits pollution by big industries."[Business] don't want to start from scratch with another mechanism. Industry feedback has been unanimous, businesses want Labor to expand the safeguard mechanism, and we've listened.
Labor also confirmed it will not use the carbon credits from the earlier Kyoto climate agreement to meet Australia's targets under the Paris agreement.
13% isn't a good result
Here's a thought ScottMorrisonMP - replace all coal power stations with nuclear power plants, build a decent train network that doesn't break down when it rains or gets above 35, reward motorcyclists and electric vehicle owners with free registration....
If you ask ScottMorrisonMP though, it’s Labor’s fault
Abs 2013 study of adult competencies states 13% of Australians are below level 1 literacy levels. Maybe it is the same 13%...
They didn’t let us know they were going to shutdown, otherwise we would have made contingency plans. Oh the sound of crickets.
SBS Headline should read '13% of Australians clueless about climate change'.
SBS If only we could vote to fix that
Just remember, there's no planet B.
That's high. Thought it would be much lower.
Considering the government can’t control the climate , it all doesn’t really matter .
nobody doing anything except asking for money. build nuclear
Has he once mentioned Nuclear Power to solve climate problems? No, he is a uneducated twit, head in the sand.
Is the 13% in comas/on life support/in a vegetative state, or just die hard idiots?
And on getting rid of Loch Ness Monster
