MANILA, Philippines: The Tariff Commission has wrapped up the public hearing on the mandatory review of Executive Order (EO) 12 which provides lower tariff rates for electric vehicles (EVs) and their components except electric motorcycles.

MANILA, Philippines: The Tariff Commission has wrapped up the public hearing on the mandatory review of Executive Order 12 which provides lower tariff rates for electric vehicles and their components except electric motorcycles.In a statement, the Tariff Commission said it has ended the deliberations but it will continue to gather more data before submitting its final report to the National Economic and Development Authority .

BOI representatives presented the figures during public deliberations on the EO 12 review which was organized by the Tariff Commission earlier this month.Views, opinions and position papers offered during the discussions showed that Filipino motorists have embraced the use of e-motorcycles as their transport option even if a 30 percent import tariff is added to the unit price.
