Several bill changes are coming in from the start of April - here's how they will affect you

Council tax, energy, broadband and water are among the household bills that are changing in April – with some going up and others down.

But the average property – Band D – in a typical local authority, paid £2,065 in the 2023/24 tax year, according to Government figures. Water bill increases also depend on your supplier – which depends on where you live – so some people may even see cuts to their annual costs.According to comparison website USwitch, the average broadband bill is currently £29.47.

This cap affects 29 million households in England, Wales and Scotland – but the actual saving you will experience depends on your usage.
