The energy generation system is pre-assembled and wired and can be put to work in five hours straight with a click of a button.

Austrian startup Solar Container has unveiled a highly sophisticated and portable photovoltaic energy system that can fit 240 solar panel modules in a standard-size container.

As the world looks to move away from fossil fuels, renewable energy sources such as solar are seeing a huge boost.Although such projects cater to large-scale energy needs, another segment of off-grid locations also needs to be served with cleaner energy. In the past, locations have installed their photovoltaic modules to stay independent of the grid.

The standardized size enables the solar modules packed within to be moved to any part of the globe using container ships, freight trains, or a container-hauling truck. The container also ensures that green energy generators are transported compactly and safely and arrive in prime condition to work at the site.is positioned on flat ground. With a touch of a button, the unpacking process for the 240 solar panels can begin, and the system unpacks much like an accordion.

On an estimation that an average household in Germany consumes 4,000 kWh of electricity every year, SolarCont can meet the energy needs of 32 households.
