RANAU: Sixteen victims had a scare when at least four vehicles were rammed by a cargo truck that lost control before ramming an electric pole, near here, Saturday.

Ranau Fire Station Chief Ridwan Mohd Taib said the incident happened in front of Petron Ranau gas station at 12.29pm.“A call was received through the station line and six personnel led by operations officer Becket Gumat rushed to the location.

“We found several vehicles, namely a three-tonne lorry carrying a load of groceries, a Perodua Bezza, a sightseeing bus and several others involved in an accident. The Fire Brigade acted to provide initial treatment to the injured before handing them over to the Health Department.Meanwhile, three people, including a woman, were injured in an accident involving three vehicles - a Perodua Bezza, a Proton Waja and a Nissan UD lorry - on Jalan Keningau-Tenom on Friday night.The district Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 9.06pm and 13 members led by operations officer Leong Hoi Min rushed to the scene.
