You should always unplug your devices when they are not being used

As the nights get darker and the days much colder, lots of people have made the decision to put their heating on - if they've not already. But, as the UK continues with the rising cost of living crisis, lots of people are worrying about their household bills.

Now, experts have shared some ways to bring down the costs and make your money stretch further. One tip from Howden Insurance could see you save as much as £200, the Daily Record reports.. The experts said: "British Gas estimated that around 23% of a home's electrical use could be eaten up by having devices still plugged in and charging once fully charged or by keeping devices on standby; this equates to around £200 per year.

"The benefits of unplugging your devices once they have a sufficient amount is that you will prolong the battery life and longevity of your device, as well as save some cash."Turning off radiators in rooms you are not occupying can save you money, even if you just reduce the temperature. Reducing the temperature by half can still ensure the room is around 15-20C, reports the Liverpool Echo.Draught-proofing your home doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg.
