Energy Minister Mick de Brenni tells those making the switch to electric: there will be an EV charger nearby.

The Queensland government has promised to put an electric car charging station every 150 kilometres across the state, the ABC can reveal.The state government will spend $42 million on 2,500 new electric vehicle charging stationsThere will also be a trial of charging banks for commuters at Coomera and Eight Mile Plains stations

"We want to see people taking public transport, we want to see zero-emission vehicles," Transport Minister Mark Bailey said. "To know that there's EV chargers right throughout the state, that's very attractive and great for everyone that owns an EV," she said. "It certainly sounds like it's going to make electric vehicle charging a lot easier for existing owners and it sounds like that's going to be particularly the case for long trips, so Queenslanders and any other visitors to the state will have much more confidence in taking those longer trips in an electric vehicle.""It's going to be particularly important for those who don't actually have access to home charging at the moment," Dr La Nauze said.
