Climate change could make a walk in the woods a much rarer pleasure

If you like to take a walk in the woods in the United States or you prefer to decorate a Douglas fir at Christmas, you should know that climate change is making both of those activities a lot harder.

Looking at two ecologically and economically important species -- the Douglas fir and the Ponderosa pine -- scientists found that fires and drought exacerbated by climate change make new growth difficult, especially in low-elevation forests, according to a study published Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The 2000 Canyon Ferry Complex Fire site in the Helena National Forest, Montana, 17 years later.

There are some things people can do to mitigate some of this problem, Davis said. Forest management plans that reduce high-severity burns can help. Increasingly, forest managers are considering allowing some fires to burn under more moderate conditions, Davis said. Forest managers can also replant trees after fire, at least in the areas where climate conditions will allow. "The people we work with who manage forests are planning for climate change," Davis said.

Fear mongers

CNN is a joke

California’s forestry management practices is making a walk in the woods rare.

Climate Change is a religion that requires a 'belief.' Don't be a science denier.

'FEAR MONGERING'KEY WORD 'COULD' ' COULD NOT'

Actually plants, including trees feed on CO2 and thrive in warmer temperatures.

Fearmongering much?

CNN IS FAKE-NEWS GARBAGE

Only we’ve gotten greener according to NASA

Forests regulate CO2 levels by absorbing them as part of their metabolism. So greater the forest, the more CO2 is removed, reducing the impact of global climate change. It may sound too little - we try to plant news trees every year in our effort in helping this.

So let's show a picture of what a recovering area, 2 years removed from a forest fire (naturally occurring event) looks like, slap some climate change bait on it and watch people go nuts. Well played. Dumbasses.

That's bull. More CO2 is great for plant life, earth would become more green and lush with plant life, not less. And in turn more oxygen BTW.

Is this after the fire in California that was caused by dumb liberals not cleaning the underbrush ❓

Russia has do much to donate

LOL CNN THINKS ANYONE WHO BELIEVES THEIR FAKE NEWS TAKES WALKS IN THE WOODS!!!!! HAAHAHAHAHAHHA

Funny I just looked up the weather and we are fine for the next 10 days no climatechange but some rain

When they can sort how to get the Sun to start spotting again, get back to us. Until then, all this 'we gotta do something about climate change / global warming' is no more than tilting at windmills... You should spend more time learning the truth about what drives our weather.

Then don’t change it

Yea we need to chop them all down and make room for windmills and solar panels😂😂😂

In year 5876003251. climatechange is as real as centaur's

Grab & share ClimateChange memes==

Tell TedTurnerIII this SierraClub bullshit narrative is getting really tired. Such a weak “Gaian” boomer-fantasy that is falling on deaf ears.

Ultimate needless energies are contributing havoc to climate.

As long as we have ranch who cares!?
