Blinken spoke at a news conference in Tel Aviv on Thursday and said he met with family members of those who were kidnapped. He added "we are doing everything we can to release the hostages." He added that the U.S. "will work closely and swiftly with Congress" to meet the needs of the nation.You may be strong enough on your own to defend yourself, but as long as America exists, you will never, ever have to," Blinken told Israel during a separate news conference. "We will always be there by your side.
