Sheetz said on Oct. 11, 2023, that it had received Pennsylvania Department of Transportation grants to expand electric vehicle charging stations at its stores including two in Dauphin County and one in Cumberland County.convenience stores and gas stations said today it has been awarded grants to expand access to electric vehicle charging stations.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation awarded six grants to Sheetz as well as another six to individual locations.“We look forward to working with PennDOT to expand EV charging access across the state of Pennsylvania,” said Trevor Walter, vice president of petroleum supply management at Sheetz.

“Ensuring that we remain innovative is at the forefront of everything we do as a company. After celebrating a significant EV milestone earlier this year, we remain committed to increasing the reach of our EV charging network to meet the needs of current and future customers.” Sheetz said it installed its first EV charger in Pennsylvania in 2012. There are now 683 EV charges at 98 Sheetz stores.
