Director David Gordon Green has created something bone-chilling enough to rival 1973’s original, taking inspiration from William Friedkin’s head-swivelling horror masterpiece while adding his own flair.

Ellen Burstyn returns as Chris MacNeil Green revealed: ‘We had child psychologists on set, we had spiritual counsellors on set’ ‘I reached out to her, and I said, “What can we do better? What can we do for these girls because I’m going to ask them to go to very difficult places, emotionally, physically”,’ he continued. ‘We had child psychologists on set, we had spiritual counsellors on set. Mum and dad and teachers. We surrounded them with a community that we could trust.
