The governor has until Oct. 14 to sign or veto the bills that made it through the Statehouse

, included a proposed pumped hydroelectric storage project at San Vicente Reservoir near Lakeside to the list of potential projects that AB 1373 helps facilitate.

Opponents of the project, who fear construction will cause habitat and environmental damage to two nearby nature preserves, were upset by the late addition but the chances of Newsom vetoing the bill appear to be nil. That’s because Newsom on Aug. 31 announced he“We’ll see how things play out” as the project moves forward, said Diane Conklin, spokesperson for theSolar along highways
