Some 27 Ukrainian refugees moved on to the site of Electric Picnic on Tuesday evening as the State continues to grapple with an accommodation crisis, the Irish Mirror understands.
The Department of Integration confirmed to the Irish Mirror that 27 refugees moved on to the site on Tuesday. Accommodation in the tourism sector is "at capacity" with no new offers forthcoming. The number of offers from commercial accommodation is also reducing. "I explained to him the format of the Ploughing. We don't have a campsite here. We're different to the Electric Picnic in that way. We have all commercial marquees that are here literally for the duration of the event and they start to be dismantled on Thursday evening and go to the next week.
