Hurricane Franklin is moving across the North Atlantic, pushing energy towards the jet stream and allowing high pressure to build across the UK. It could allow hotter air from the Mediterranean to move up.

Bermuda was lashed by the outer bands of Hurricane Franklin, a category 2 storm, on Wednesday."That has consequences for our own weather," Met Office meteorologist Aidan McGivern said.

Sky News meteorologist Chris England said the UK is set for a"mainly dry weekend, with south-westerly winds bringing warm and humid air up from mid-Atlantic".
