Met Éireann is reporting that temperatures across the country are set to cool for the rest of the week with a rainy weekend in store ahead of a "rollercoaster" week of temperatures next week.
Thursday afternoon will see long spells of sunshine with a small number of passing showers confined to Connacht and Ulster, temperatures topping off between 16-19C.Thursday night will be a mix clear spells and showery, with heavier rain forecasted along the Atlantic coast. Lowest temperatures of 9C to 12C.
Saturday, 26 August Sunny spells and showers will once again be mixed, with some showers turning heavy and thundery in the afternoon. The day will be largely fresh and breezy day with highs of 15C to 19C. Next week The rest of next week is set to be "changeable and rather unsettled" which will not make planning easy for festivalgoers planning to attend the Electric Picnic music festival in Stradbally, Co Laois over the weekend of Friday 1 September.
