The Consumer Price Index , the CSO’s main marker for inflation, rose by 5.8 per cent in the 12 months to July of this year. This is the 22nd straight month where year on year inflation has increased by more than 5 per cent.
There was a slight positive in that the year on year increase was down slightly from June, where the CPI rose by 6.1 per cent.
