Eskom attributed some of the recent capacity constraints to delays in returning two generating units each at Kendal and Tutuka power stations to service. Ramokgopa reported that approximately 56% of the EAP's outlined actions were either completed or on track. Among the interventions implemented by the government, Ramokgopa highlighted the sourcing of additional capacity from neighbouring countries, with 100 MW already sourced from Mozambique and an additional 600 MW on the way. The minister also emphasised efforts to address outages and breakdowns at Eskom power stations, resulting in a decrease in breakdowns from 17 000 MW in May to an average of 15 000 MW in the past week.
