In reality, advancements in clean energy technologies, widespread adoption of renewable sources, and innovative policy measures have significantly narrowed the cost gap between clean and traditional energy sources. The transition toward clean energy has proven to be economically advantageous, offering long-term savings and greater affordability for consumers.
While it’s true that no energy transition will occur overnight, underestimating clean energy is a mistake for both our people and our planet. Our goal should be to employ as many energy sources as possible for abundant and reliable energy generation under any and all circumstances.Wind and solar power are, as mentioned before, intermittent sources, but under the right conditions, they are important assets to the grid.
As a conservative climate advocate, I recognize the importance of an even playing field on which all energy sources compete. Conservatives tend to lean into this argument as a way to championtraditional energy, but we would do well to recognize that clean energy can also be affordable, reliable energy. We need a rational, balanced energy agenda that doesn’t get caught up in politics.
