Victoria was singled out in a scathing new report that analysed each jurisdiction’s electric vehicle policy, after the Andrews government abruptly scrapped a major incentive to encourage uptake.

While the State of the Electric Vehicles report showed an improvement in Australia’s uptake of vehicles from the year prior, it was scathing of the country's second-biggest state.

The report accused Victoria of financially disincentivising residents to purchase electric vehicles after it removed subsidies and kept road taxes in effect.
