Maybank’s investment to enhance its ESG research is part of an effort to help pave the way for environmental sustainability.
The initiative is expected to help pave the way for the emergence of energy transition and decarbonisation solutions in support of the government’s National Energy Transition Roadmap and Low Carbon Aspiration 2050.Its president and CEO Khairussaleh Ramli said the NETR would increase the demand for clean energy sources and financing for new infrastructure, technologies and decarbonising energy-intensive industries.
“Our aspiration is to become a key player in the carbon ecosystem and contribute to a sustainable future for Malaysia and Asean,” he said. It will also include impact analysis on the adequacy of sustainability targets, alignment with industry standards and game-changing actions.
