The agreement was signed by representatives of Pasig City LGU, ERC, and Meralco for the management of campaigns to spread knowledge and will educate consumers to entice more people to sign up for the net-metering service. A kiosk will be set up at the Pasig City Office of the Building Official for applications involving Distributed Energy Resources and net metering.
As Meralco said, the Pasig LGU will lead the logistics, while the ERC will provide the technical and regulatory expertise to ensure the proper implementation of the program. Pasig City Mayor Victor Ma. Regis “Vico” N. Sotto said that the agreement will help streamline the application process for net-meeting.
“We believe this tripartite partnership will really help move us in the correct direction. Hopefully, what we do here in the next weeks, months, and years will also be a roadmap or model for other LGUs and other places around the Philippines,” Mayor Sotto said during the signing ceremony. The Pasig LGU, Meralco, and ERC agreement intends to ensure the prompt processing of DER and net metering applications. Distribution utilities have a maximum 20-day processing window under the revised net-metering rules issued by the ERC to complete the entire interconnection process from receipt of the letter of interest, provided all required permits and licenses from various concerned agencies are obtained and completed.
