I chatted with Kea Nonyana from EA Capital, asking about potential in our local commodity space. He’s taking a longer-term view and focusing on what he calls the 4th Industrial Revolution metals, such as copper and lithium. He also offered tips on where to find opportunities locally.Generally, economic stats such as low growth and high unemployment would suggest failing state institutions. I spoke with Isaah Mhlanga from RMB about South Africa’s National Treasury.

I wanted a sense of how manufacturing is doing in the renewable energy space. Both installing for their own use, but also in terms of manufacturing locally as opposed to importing. Speaking with Justin Schmidt from Absa Relationship Banking, we got great insights into this booming industry.I spoke with the Citrus Growers Association president Justin Chadwick as the European Union is again restricting imports of SA’s oranges.
