Porsche's planned Frauscher x Porsche 850 'Fantom Air' speedboat will come complete with the powertrain from the Macan EV.

, but Porsche plans to create an electric speedboat using the 858 "Fantom Air" as its foundation. The boat's hull will remain mostly unchanged, while its propulsion system will incorporate technology from the Volkswagen Group's Premium Platform Electric platform. This technology will also be used in future Porsche and Audi EVs, including the Macan EV and the Audi A6 e-tron.

By comparison, the traditionally powered "Fantom Air" 858 is recommended for producing between 320-430hp. While there is no information yet on the new model's speed or range during high-speed cruising, the performance metrics are expected to be quite impressive once revealed. Though it has been confirmed that the 800V installation can utilize DC fast-charging stations, AC charging will also remain an option.

As it stands, Porsche will be responsible for the design of the helm stand and interior of the boat, including the seats and upholstery, while Frauscher will do the rest. The boat is believed to carry up to nine people and will come with a premium sound system and a refrigerator as onboard amenities. The powertrain technology is excluded from Porsche's design responsibilities.“We stand for state-of-the-art, high-performance, and sustainable luxury – and we are redefining this concept.

The Frauscher Shipyard in Ohlsdorf, Austria, will manufacture the electric speedboats. The initial production run will consist of only 25 first-edition units, set to be delivered in 2024. Pricing details have not yet been released.
