I think it was 7th grade science class we were taught the effect of temp. on battery output.

Same shitty quality as in a phone...

THE BATTERY IS NOT 'DYING FASTER'. You just temporarily have less range in extremely cold circumstances. This can be mitigated by warming the battery. But the battery remains in good condition.

AAA confirms what Tesla, BMW, Nissan electric car owners suspected — cold weather saps EV rangeA new AAA study finds that when the thermometer drops to 20 degrees Fahrenheit, range falls by an average of 41 percent on the five electric vehicle models it tested. Cold temps have effected battery performance for as long as I can remember. So why did they think any differently now I wonder by AAA you mean ExxonMobil research department? Another upside of global warming!

AAA: Cold weather can cut electric car range over 40 percentDETROIT (AP) — Cold temperatures can sap electric car batteries, temporarily reducing their range by more than 40 percent when interior heaters are used, a new study found. The study of five electric vehicles by AAA also found that high temperatures can cut into battery range, but not nearly as much as the cold. The range returns to normal in more comfortable temperatures. Many owners discovered the range limitations last week when much of the country was in the grips of a polar vortex. Owners of vehicles made by manufacturers including Tesla, the top-selling electric vehicle company in the U.S., complained on social media about reduced range and frozen door handles during the cold snap. tkrisher No shit... tkrisher “Duh.” ~ Anyone that’s ever owned one tkrisher Anyone who lives in cold temperatures know that cold has a negative impact on batteries. This should be no surprise to anyone who lives in such areas.

Tesla, Jaguar and Nissan EVs lose power in cold temps. Polar vortex left electric car owners in coldOwners of today's battery-electric vehicles found out during last week's cold snap that the range can be impacted by things like terrain, a motorist's driving style and whether you use the heat. Battery technology is not yet able to fulfill the requirements of drivers. That’s just obvious. Fossil fuels are still king of the road. Correct. A lot of batteries lose their charge in cold weather. Golly, what a surprise. 🤣
