that can be driven on the road but its underpinnings remain the same. As such, the eMCV is powered by a huge 212 kWh battery pack just like the civilian version, and also has the same chassis. Interestingly, the electric powertrain has been supplemented by a 12 kW diesel-powered generator and it should be good for approximately 300 miles of range on a single charge. GM Defense also says it can be topped up with 100 miles of range in just 12 minutes.

Additionally, the eMCV has bespoke wheels and enlarged 37-inch off-road tires. Unspecified changes have also been made to the brakes and the new bodywork contributes to improved approach and departure angles. It also has a new tubular roll cage, Fox performance shocks, swing side-arm mounts, and a 46-inch gun ring. The concept has been designed as a six-seater and also encompasses so-called Silent Watch and Silent Drive features to help it avoid enemy detection.

“The vehicle demonstrates GM Defense’s ability to leverage advanced commercial technologies to help global and government customers transition to a more electric, autonomous, and connected future,” GM Defense said at its launch. “This is a technology and concept development vehicle that directly informs our ongoing Series Hybrid Light Tactical Wheeled Vehicle development.”
