Heidi has “the energy of 45 puppies”, her relieved owner said, after the 10-year-old pooch notched up two laps of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Heidi the spoodle went off leash on the North Shore train line during Thursday morning’s commute, completing not one but two laps of the Sydney Harbour Bridge during a one-hour run.

Sydney Trains and emergency services were no match for the swift 10-year-old as she raced down on the tracks of the leafy lower North Shore to Milsons Point and over the Harbour Bridge. More than an hour later, Heidi made her way back to Waverton station, and about 9.30am was safely captured thanks to staff and emergency services when she exited the track.

Sydney Trains chief executive Matt Longland expressed his amazement at how fast Heidi could run, and said it was good news she was saved.
