Australia is on the cusp of another mining boom in critical metals to feed the world’s insatiable appetite for technology and renewable energy, with Queensland looking to position itself as a world leader in exports.

"The energy transformation is actually going to create more mining, not less," Queensland Exploration Council chairwoman Kim Wainwright said. It is pouring $245 million into the sector under its Critical Minerals Strategy, announced this week.
