"How much electricity does the United States demand each year?" Pfluger asked Goffman during a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing."Um, I don't know that number off the top of my head," Goffman replied.
President Biden wants to mandate electric vehicles for all Americans, yet his top officials don’t even know how much electricity our country requires.Pfluger informed Goffman that the nation demands four terawatts annually and then chastised the Biden administration for having neither an EPA nor a secretary of energy that could answer that question.
"Who else doesn't know it in this country, and we're mandating electric vehicles," Pfluger said.
"It's 110 degrees in my hometown today," Pfluger responded."The wind is not blowing. The sun is shining, and, after four hours of darkness, there will be no batteries on this planet that can produce a reliable source of base load dispatchable power."
