MORE Electric and Power Corp.’s shift to renewable energy has contributed to the drop in electricity rates in Iloilo City.

The decline in generation charge, which represents a major component of the bill, largely contributed to the drop in overall electricity rates. It said that the entry of renewable energy suppliers into the supply mix has paved the way for the value added tax on the generation charge to drop to P0.1613 per kWh.
