The company says the offer from the federal government is now ‘under financial and legal review’

says it is reviewing a written offer from the federal government after weeks of negotiating to keep the company’s electric vehicle battery plant in Ontario.

“Stellantis and LGES are in receipt of a written offer that is currently under financial and legal review,” said Stellantis spokeswoman LouAnn Gosselin.The details of the offer are unknown, but it is expected to include billions in additional subsidies for the company. On Friday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said his government was continuing its conversations with the company and stressed that Canada is looking to get the best deal to secure jobs into the future.
