Several customers of the Oriental Mindoro Electric Cooperative, Inc. were shocked after their monthly electric bill spiked to nearly P1 million.
The electric cooperative admitted its meter reader made an error in the customers' statement of account , adding it is now investigating the incident. “There was negligence because he never checked the SOA before distributing it to the consumer. It was unintentional and merely human error,” she added.
“We encourage our consumers to report their complaints to us directly instead of posting it online so that we can resolve their concerns and queries,” said Vilan.
