Seattle Sounders' Alex Roldan and Houston Dynamo's Brad Smith go up for a header during the second half of an MLS soccer match Saturday, May 13, 2023, in Houston. Shell Energy Stadium is starting to become a tough place for teams to play.

Houston, which had 10 players on the pitch for most of the match for the second straight game, surrendered its first goal at Shell Energy Stadium this season. The Dynamo were trying to pick up their seventh consecutive home shutout in all competitions and fell to 5-1-1 during that stretch. Seattle was coming off a 3-1 loss to the L.A. Galaxy in the U.S. Open Cup and snapped a two-game losing streak. The Sounders remain atop the Western Conference standings with 23 points, while the Dynamo is in the middle of the pack with 14.
