Litigation stopping brush and tree clearance on rights of ways has stopped some management of brush in almost all states. Regulators can see many of these prohibitions that citizens are insulated from. FOI requests and reporting of findings would be a good read (book length?).

The charge that “other utilities” caused wildfires remains to be proven by objective investigation and our courts. PG&E is on the hot seat and it is in their interest to defect that responsibility. PG&E stocks are soaring right now because of this and the bailout they recieved from Governor Brown. We foot the bill for the mistakes of a corporation.
