Key point: This tweet, and the underlying article, never actually asserted that humanity would end in the year 2023.

Did the Tweet Say What People Claim It Said?

[Brigitte] Gabriel, founder of ACT for America, on March 11, 2023, also said:"Greta Thunberg deleted this tweet because it exposes her for being a fraud. Make sure the entire world sees it." Conflating the years scientists claim to be so-called"tipping points" with the year in which the end result of those tipping points is supposed to emerge is a rhetorical tactic common in climate-denial circles.

He said that during the seminar, he was displaying the most recent observations of Arctic sea ice volume — specifically the ice floating on the Arctic Ocean — and made the statement that"the current observed rate of floating ice loss volume, there will be no floating ice remaining by 2022." dickeyx2 Thank you. They took needing to make changes by…and turned it into a doomsday prediction. Easier to ridicule her that way. Unfortunately most people never read below the headlines, otherwise this tactic wouldn’t be effective.

Snopes.. you are terrible . What's 5 years removed from 2018.... 2023

Debunked. She tweeted it and deleted it. Her tweet and the article asserted that humanity would become extinct five years hence from the date of the article. Remember kids, just because Snopes tweets something it doesn’t mean it’s true.

Nice deflection. In other words Greta retweeted a climate assertion based on a false interpretation of what the original scientist actually said and therefore is not at fault. If climate sceptic leader retweeted an opposite nonsense would Snopes let them off the hook?

LOL, did you hurt your self on this contortion? I see this type of reasoning in toddlers caught in the act. Keep shredding any credibility you have left.

Snopes' biased left-wing geniuses can't do math or logic 2018 + 5 = 2023 So, yes she did assert that. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

🤡🤡

Y'all are a joke. Everyone knows what was implied, but keep simping for anything left of center. If it wasn't what she meant, why did she delete it five years later?

...of course not
