Nationals MP Matt Canavan says if Australia doesn’t supply India with coal, then India will turn to the Russians for its “voracious demand” of energy.

“For India, they are growing, they are developing, they’re going to need a lot more coal,

they’re building 50 coal-fired power stations,” Mr Canavan told Sky News host Paul Murray.

Australia sanction's Russia. New best friend India does not. Where is the out cry? Wait India is another tool used to contain China.

Strange, I thought Russia got its coal from Poland.

I'm so glad that Matt Canavan is pushing coal purely for world peace, and not at all because of his family's investments in coal.

Matt Canavan says...oh, haw haw haw hoh hooooooo.

Who's suggesting we want to stop coal exports to India? India says it can be self sufficient anyway, but their coal quality isn't that great, worse on average than Carmichael (24 MJ/kg compared to standard Newcastle export quality 25 MJ/kg).

Countries and greedy elitists are shutting down energy and economies. Creating Energy alliances. WEF - tear down country's economy then Build Back Better with them in charge. More sane people must speak out against them. This is not about the climate.

Not a desirable outcome for India. Setting up railroad would be extremely difficult. Probably have to sail from the north all around Europe, the Med and Suez Canal. But that wouldn't be our problem.

Our coal is worth billions in income and it’s going to be used for the next hundred years.

‘Remarkable opportunity’: Critical minerals key to India trade talksResources Minister Madeleine King has recognised the enormous growth potential of Australia’s relationship with India, highlighting the “remarkable opportunity” in trading critical minerals. “India is a vast, vibrant democracy – part of the QUAD grouping,” she told Sky News Australia. “A natural fit when it comes to working together on the extraction and processing of critical minerals.” Ms King said lithium is a “very important” critical mineral traded with India. “But the other thing is cobalt will be very important for elements of batteries, and rare earth elements form products that go into high-powered magnets, which are then also needed in electric vehicles and wind turbines,” she said. After a “remarkable opportunity”, do we then move to a “plan”? Kind of beats actually having to do anything. Let’s pretend we have similar values so we can sell them our resources, it’s a solid strategy. So now India wants more coal, gas and yellow cake which Australia is to be banned from using. Sounds like true Labor logic.
