Nationals MP Keith Pitt says if nuclear can power submarines then surely Australia has an “opportunity for nuclear” power to deliver baseload energy to Australians.

“If you can put it in a submarine and send it under the ocean surely, surely … we can put it on a block of concrete that won’t move on a very stable continent to deliver baseload power for all Australians.”

The fact that Pitt assuredly thinks a nuclear power plant on a sub means having them in every capital city is fine shows the depth of thought.

Christ this guy's a FW.

Do the Nationals have a spare 4 trillion dollars for it?

Cant we just park the subs in port and run an extension cord into the grid?

buy russian power stations on special this week

And the reason the LNP did *nothing* about this for 9 years is what, exactly?

Isn’t he the bloke Morrison stole the ministry from? MurdochGutterMedia

How many activists have children or grandchildren? How many parents of activists don’t have a family but have only 1 spoiled child that will inherit all. I wish I had the resources and education to profile them. I think it wod b enlightening.

Do they come with external PowerPoint sockets we can plug into. Appetite for nuclear Energy will grow if blackouts occur and/or bills become unaffordable. The majority don't care where it comes from, along as it comes and is relatively cheap but watch support grow if it doesn't.

Solar and wind power? Can Australia engineer and build that tech. No we become subservient to our energy suppliers. While they build nuclear and coal power. I am embarrassed and ashamed to belong to a nation that sells out our children

Whatever happened to Snowy River 2 That was going to fix all our power needs 😂🤪

Unless he’s advocating a nuclear plant in his seat of Hinkler, then he’s full of crap.

Dunno, can we be sure that South Australia will sell us the uranium? Think of the supply chain issues!

Nuclear is the most expensive power. Don’t LNP educate themselves before speaking on subjects they know nothing about?

He is not wrong

Very good

Only if they build it and the waste dump in his electorate

Dock a few and power cities like government wants to with ev's on charge. Surely they have more output than a few dozen tesla's . Let's ask Elon musk?

Better check with Scott before you speak… we don’t want another PEP 11 mess

Rather nuclear power than blackouts cos that's where we are heading with only green.

The greens will never agree because, well, it’s the greens. Bowen is too caught up buying wind turbines and solar panels to do what’s right for Australia if it means admitting he’s got it wrong. Nuclear power would be absolutely the right move for Australia.

The Pitt(s)

At Port Kembla as well?

agreed 100%,,but we can't get a bloody gov,,to get on with it,

Wash your mouth out! Real solutions to “the climate emergency” aren’t welcome!

So has Australia asked Japanese how to settle the nuclear meltdown? And how to hide thousands of Thyroid cancer potential? Unless there is cutting-edge science to prevent accidents. Once an accident occurs, the cesium will be blown into your backyard and the bush on the wind.

You have get past Chris Bowen.. talk to him like he's a 5 year old at the circus 🤷‍♂️

And there it is. The trojan horse works again 🙄
