The latest Russian missile barrage against Ukraine's civilian infrastructure has marked one of the largest such attacks in months.

FILE - Russian Tu-22M-3 long-range bombers fly during the Victory Day military parade marking 71 years after the victory in WWII in Red Square in Moscow, Russia, Monday, May 9, 2016. The latest Russian missile barrage against Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure on Thursday, March 9, 2023 has marked one of the largest such attacks in months. Russia has used the Tu-22M to launch Kh-22 cruise missiles at targets in Ukraine.

The latest Russian missile barrage against Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure has marked one of the largest such attacks in months. On Thursday, Russia fired over 80 missiles in a massive effort to overwhelm Ukrainian air defenses and cripple the country’s energy system. Russia has been regularly launching similar strikes since October in a bid to demoralize the population and force the Ukrainian government to bow to the Kremlin’s demands.

Thursday’s strikes differed from earlier attacks, though, by including a larger number of sophisticated hypersonic missiles that are the most advanced weapons in the Russian arsenal. But just like previous such barrages it has failed to cause lasting damage to the country’s energy network, with repair crews quickly restoring power supplies to most regions.

How about this attack on Russian infrastructure?

I don't care

To test them in real world environments.

Hopefully they're not test runs to use against other countries. Also they seem impossible for Ukraine to shoot down. Either way not a good sign

Why has Ukraine been killing it's ethnic Russians since 2014? Ask Hussein.

When this is over maybe they will think twice about building US backed bio weapons labs.

Testing. Simple as that. Get its flight data, speed and impact results so they can improve and deploy it elsewhere. They're also interested in seeing which defense platforms can shoot it down, if any. No better place than a battlefield for any of that.

Hypnotize the simple minded

Running out of other types

99 missile shot down out of 100 maybe 🤔

We need to send them more missile defense systems. And a few dozen Reaper drones.

So you would write about and be excited 😊

but they said Russia was running out of missiles like 9 months ago.

idk maybe because the whole world is like russia is getting wrecked all over the news all the time... antagonize and then ask why

Because they are harder for Ukrainian air defenses to shoot down?
