'I think China has been very sensitive and has actually invested a lot in their solutions to achieve their goals,' U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said.

How China is Combating Climate Change

Granholm's recent praise seems to be relevant to some of China's announced climate ambitions. The country has set out national policies through five-year plans that would tackle climate change for each political term, reported in November. For its 14th plan, from 2021 to 2025, China vowed to be committed to reduce the amount of carbon emissions per unit of GDP by 65 percent.

Additionally, Chinese banks vowed to not invest in new overseas coal projects. Shuang Liu, senior associate at the World Resources Institute, recently told the Asia Society,"We haven't seen any new coal projects after September 2021, so the data also supports the progress we've seen on overseas coal investment."

China also heavily invested in electric vehicles, as it had around 10 million new-energy vehicles by June 2022, according to a by the LSE. Those vehicles include battery electric, plug-in hybrid and fuel cell.

CERAWEEK-Don’t let China control clean energy supply chain, US officials warnOfficials from President Joe Biden's administration warned leaders of the U.S. clean energy transition this week to decarbonize quickly and keep the supply chain out of China's control. Dislike👎 The US is the Tonya Harding of global politics. If it can't fairly compete with more talented rivals, it tries to knee cap them, rather than getting it's own failing house in order. A disgusting mindset the global South is fed up with. No wonder the queue to join BRICS is so long why the US keep blaming china, no one stopping anyone from building solar farm right? I dont get why need to fight about this

PolitiFact - Claim about Energy Department, gas stoves, China is exaggeratedA GOP congressman said Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm met 'with the radical green energy group behind the gas stove ban,' which 'has ties to the' Chinese Communist Party. This is exaggerated. Considering there was no push for a ban you could have girded up your loins here and called it an all out lie as it is. You guys simply don't have the courage to fulfill your stated purpose. Exaggeration? Histrionics is more accurate. SOP for the GQP. Take grain of truth and load on the BS to create a hair-on-fire grievance tweet to win clicks and get an interview on right-wing media where there's never a challenging question. All instead of actually legislating.
