I'm with Ken kenklippenstein :

There's one of the biggest problems today, vegetarians.

britjfrain GpcOakville

I will make sure I meat at least once a day every single day of 2019

Thank you guardian for teaching me the political importance of lifestyle choices. Thanks to your guidance, I will save the planet with my lifestyle choice of smashing capitalism and confiscating the hoarded wealth of parasites like Guardian Media Group chair Neil Berkett!

I will fly less and use less fossil fuels. Meat is a distraction, stop letting petrochemical off the hook. Energy and transport are the iceberg under the waterline and meat is the small easy target above the water. The iceberg is massive under the water.

A hardcore non-vegetarian, having been a strict vegetarian(by choice) for 17 years & gotten back to eating meat-eggs for the last 2 & a 1/2; I often ponder over this aspect. Having less meat is sensible; vegetables are healthy. All a matter of balanced, sensible personal choices.

Y'all it says LESS MEAT. Why not try eating LESS MEAT? Who does that hurt?.!

But not good for the human race I think.

Meanwhile lets chop trees down so we can make newspapers

funesino

I eat meat but I'm trying to be more conscious about it. How about that? I've decided to try to grow some of my own veg as well, which vastly affects the carbon footprint of what you eat

I'm sure that won't be a problem with prices escalating across the country.

no different to using the toilet. just like you wanting a ban on diesel cars. The result, thousands on the dole.and no difference to the climate. You are running out of scapegoats.

And if all of humanity switched to a vegetarian diet, where would we get the farmland? How much deforestation would be required? How much fertilizer run off would there be?

Tax the shit out of oil companies exxonmobil

It's not only good for the planet, but good for you. Most store bought meet; beef and chicken ,is full of hormones and preservatives, that hurt you now or in the future.

what a lie... giving up meat is the WORST thing you can do for your body. clean up Big AG by breaking up the monopolies and get back to small farms with less chemicals and end gmos.

Stop pushing this

A plant based diet might reduce CO2 but it kills everything else in its path, go organic and save the ecology.

Stop posting this crap!!!

Yes. That’s what’s gonna do it.

Best thing you can do for the planet is to call your senators and congress representatives and demand they support the green new deal, then get your friends to do the same.

it is indeed

Actually boycotting Palm Oil would be better..

I'm vegetarian, so I guess I'm doing my bit for the planet ... 🤗

How about eating flies ?

Why you shouldn't listen to 's, (fat acceptance activists) diet advices.

Or; ban fossil fuel subsidies and ban the companies from paying lobbyists and politicians.

Fixed it for you

I take your eating less meat and I raise you not having children 😉

_kizzanne Not a vegan, not planning on being a vegan, just planning on being more environmentally conscious in the most efficient ways and that includes being less reliant on meat and dairy

The best thing you can do is off yourself, reduces your energy use to zero overnight!

To eat meat is human. We're omnivores after all. Yes you can be vegetarian but for many of us meat is just part of our diet. And going vegan as I understand it means more air miles for things like soya.

In the 1970s, people in west asked me why I don’t eat meat. There is much malnutrition in India and there are so many cows. This is the answer. I was vegetarian and still am vegetarian. Wisdom is universal. tavleen_singh

if I want my steak i will have it!

How about fossil fuels? Less flying? Transportation? Less children?

I'd say stopping Brexit is better. If we trade more with far away nations the wasteful extra transportation will be more damaging. Also stopping climate change denier idiots like Trump from having authority. But I've stopped eating meat as well.

Well I don’t know about THAT. By meat do you mean just cows, or does it mean meats of all kinds, except fish.

Eat it up while you still can!

As I eat my delicious bacon sandwich I would just like to say bollocks. If we want to help the planet we need to reduce the human population (especially those in the developing world) If we cut the global population by 70% imagine what a relief that would be to the Mother Earth

Yes. I’m sure the top 10,000 industrialists still using coal to power their factories and power stations would agree with that... and be the first to put a Band Aid on an axe wound.

can you do an article on why deportations is the best thing we can do for Britain In 2019?

Alright, you've got a point. I will try.

Fixed it for you

Because you say so? No more sirloin steak are you on drugs?

71% of global emissions come from just 100 companies. The best thing we could do for our planet is harass these companies into reducing their emissions. Global warming is this era's biggest threat.

Yeah humans stop eating the animals

Other than having fewer kids, obviously.

Because it means you get to tell everyone you don’t eat meat

Cause then you can be pissweak like the soy boys.
