Shadow Defence Minister Andrew Hastie says he is unsure if Treasurer Jim Chalmers is committed to seeing the right amount of funding given to defence to ensure it can meet its capability requirements.

“One thing I am concerned about is the apparent division within the government,” he told Sky News host Erin Molan.
