Premier Danielle Smith will turn to a panel of five oilpatch veterans to advise her government on the future of Alberta’s energy industry.Yager was also a former political candidate for the Wildrose Party, one of the groups that came together to form the United Conservative Party that Smith now leads.
The other members of the panel include Hal Kvisle, who sits on the board of Cenovus Energy and has run several other energy companies.Carey Arnett is president of Arnett and Burgess Pipeliners and Phil Hodge is the president of Pine Cliff Energy. The panel is to meet with government ministries and industry stakeholders, although Smith makes no mention of public consultation or outside experts.
Smith says the panel is to advise the government on how Alberta can meet the world’s future energy needs and a final report is to be completed by June 30.
The cronyism is laughable. But I'm sure Alberta's Environment minister, a former Enbridge lobbyist and Smith, a former oil lobbyist - will accept this report from lobbyists and proceed with wisdom on Alberta's energy file. And Albertans have the nerve to fly F Trudeau flags.
Alberta_UCP Hiring the foxes to check out the henhouse again daniellesmith
So albertans Lobbyist premier… is now paying for the lobbyists to lobby the feds, instead of OG Lobbying firms? Oh that is rich 💀
perfect let the fox tell you how to protect the hen house
Shame
Henhouse appoints fox to advise on security.
The UCP is bought out by the O&G industry so this isn’t surprising, but it’s obvious the UCP are self serving and have a private Agenda they want to fulfill before the election 🗳️
David is wise and a great source of common sense. 👌
